Abbeville county voters hear county and state candidates in rallies at Calhoun Falls Lowndesville Antreville and planned speeches in Due West Donalds Abbeville Greenwood Laurens and Newberry. state offices speakers include Octavus Cohen Wilson Harvey and others. Colum bia hosts a major cotton rally next Wednesday inviting governors and national leaders.
Mrs Belle Chapman owns the county s first Cadillac touring car a handsome vehicle drawing admirers eager for a ride as neighbors praise the new owner and celebrate the debut of the luxury auto.
Miss Victoria Howie travels to Monroe for a week long visit among friends. She is widely regarded as a popular young lady in the city and friends extend best wishes for a pleasant stay.
Mrs Robin Bailey and two daughters Miss Sarah Bailey and Miss Cleo Bailey of Anderson arrived yesterday for a several day visit with Mrs Arthur Link on Chestnut Avenue.

Officials note about 17 million U.S. women will gain rights. anti suffrage leaders push for reconsideration, likely to fail, with legal action possible if brought. Suffrage leaders stress ratification cannot be reversed.
Mr C A Botts continues to recover from illness. Several days ago doctors advised hospital care but he chose to stay and get better. He recalls wartime days when other weapons looked more menacing than hospital staff and directions given.
Miss Minnie Bee of Edgefield is in the city on a visit to her sister Mrs. R. L. Mabry.
A two day reunion of Orrs Rifles and other South Carolina regiments drew 30 to 40 veterans to Due West. A Memorial Hall program featured readings music and dancing. Officials from Erskine College spoke and Col Campbell led a uniformed presentation. Local residents hosted a hearty barbecue and treats at the College Home. Future reunions eyed for Walhalla with ongoing town developments and new housing near the schools.
