Fire Proof Ford Burns In San Francisco Quake

A Ford nearly burned in a fire sparked by the San Francisco earthquake. Fire department members, reading a late Press and Banner scoop, watched Hap Seal alert experts who arrived from the city to help. Frank's car was saved after a small loss of a seat and several blisters.

Meeting at Cross Hill Rev 1 ends two weeks success

Waddell Pratt returned Monday after a two week meeting at Cross Hill. Attendance rose to about 250 per service with 27 nonmembers, fifteen making professions of faith. The civil power of the Holy Spirit was felt. Mabry, Le Mabry, and Maley noted spiritual events and the mineral spring at Williamston was mentioned.

Government fixes charges for ginning in South Carolina

The Food Administration sets the ginning price in South Carolina effective immediately. A bale up to 500 pounds costs 3.00 dollars, with 70 cents per additional 100 pounds. If bagging ties are provided by the gin, an extra 1.20 is charged. farmers may supply their own bagging and ties.
