T. C. Sutherland Jr. dies after operation in Chester hospital
T. C. Sutherland Jr. died Tuesday August 6 in a Chester hospital after surgery for tuberculosis of the bone. He had earlier been treated at home for what was believed to be rheumatism. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Shiloh with Rev. J. L. Martin officiating. He is survived by his father and mother Mr. and Mrs. T Curtis Sutherland four sisters and three brothers.

Fatal Accident At Level Land Involving Gailey
Mr. Al BH Gailey of Iva was instantly killed Sunday when his Ford ran off a bridge at Level Land. A sand stretch and slick soil just before the bridge likely caused loss of control as the car crossed the bridge, overturned, and pinned him beneath. The vehicle sustained no damage to the body.
