Fire Destroys Home of Mr B P Greene on Church Street
Sunday at two o'clock the residence of B P Greene on Church street was totally destroyed by fire with most of its contents. The family had just sat down to dinner when the fire was discovered. Water and chemicals fought the blaze but the building could not be saved. The home, built years ago by the late A G Faulkner, was one of the city's finest cottages. Insurance covered the building for 2000 and the furniture for 1000, all of which was lost. The Greenes moved into a nearby Abbeville Realty Company house while repairs are considered.
