Sympathy Strikes Illegal Move Considered by City Council
The Winnipeg city council debated a proposal to urge the provincial government to enact legislation making collective bargaining compulsory and to outlaw sympathetic strikes. A strong delegation to Ottawa was discussed to push Parliament to act on unrest causes while garbage collection and street cleaning operations were organized by volunteers from the Citizens' Committee of One Thousand.
