Reunion Delights Muswellbrook Old Timers

After 33 years Prienda ay lads two Muswellbrook residents Sergeant Jas Grimt and Mr TE Eawarih renew acquaintance. The pallor officer has been in Muswellbrook some time and Mr Edwards has taken duty at the Muswellbrook Post Office engineering branch. A few days ago in conversation Mr Bawards mentioned a0. Motorisation Favored by 16th Light Horse Regiment

The 16th Light Horse Machine Gun regiment completed its training at Rutherford and returned all gear to headquarters after breaking camp in moderate weather. Adjutant Capt. C. Wennick notes the shift from horses to motor transport aids endurance, though horses are missed by veterans. A new unit badge was secured for future vehicles and will be used on all future units.

Doctor Leaves £77217 in Will of Deceased Doctor

The will of Dr John Semmley formerly of Taree who died at Mosman on December 9 1056 leaves £77217 in legacies. Gifts include £10000 to endow a maternity ward £2000 to Manning River District Hospital £1000 to Mater Misericordiae Hospital £80000 to the Catholic Church Mosman and £2000 to the Convent at Tarree with £2000 to Lewisham Hospital. The will is lodged for probate by executors Mrs Gormles the Minister of Justice and the Perpetual Trustee Company Limited.

Aboriginal Art. Remarkable Carvings at Wollombi

A lecturer described Aboriginal carvings found near Devils Rock during a recent talk. A student traveled to the site and returned with many photos and two specimens. One carving shows a bird’s beak imprint. The carvings line the rock for a quarter mile and include dilly-bags, blackfellows, kangaroos, and related figures in good condition.
