Woyle River diamond shown at British Industries Fair

The largest uncut diamond, found in Sierra Leone’s Woyle River gravels in January 1945, was exhibited in the jewellery section of the British Industries Fair staged in London and Birmingham. Weighing about 770 carats, it is the third largest recorded and the largest alluvial diamond, insured for £100000. It was found by the Sierra Leone Selection Trust.
