Presbyterian Visitation to Gloucester for Quarterly Presbytery

Members of Hastings Presbytery Gloucester meet in Gloucester this week for the quarterly presbytery meeting. The Moderator will conduct a Presbyterial visitation, rate services, interview parish organizations, and report findings to presbytery. The service will be led by Rev J Walker with Rev W Torrance preaching.

Wingham Stationmaster Bruce farewelled before transfer

A farewell gathering at the Wingham Railway Station honored W A Bruce upon his transfer to Willow Tree near Quirindi. J A Revitt presided as the Railway Star and others praised Bruce for courteous service amid a busy stock-trucking period, presenting a fountain pen and pencil from local carriers.

Wingham Station Sends Off Bruce Family to Willow Tree

Wingham Railway Station presented a fitting character to Mr Bruce as he and Mrs Bruce and their family left on Wednesday. The departure was marked by warm wishes for their future and friends at Willow Tree.

Pig exhibit Billy the Pig revived at South Grafton abattoirs

The Examiner reports a revived Billy the Pig sideshow memory at Grafton Dairy Company abattoirs in South Grafton. A massive pig was slaughtered after being sent through the yards due to its bulk. Weighed post slaughter it stood 675 pounds, with an estimate of nearly 800 pounds as a whole animal. Several other large pigs were processed recently, but none matched this size.
