Special Meeting of MLA A H Association at Taree Institute
A special meeting of the committee of the MLA A H Association was held at Taree Literary Institute on Thursday night. Mr Hubert Allan presided as president. The committee discussed taking over showground use for greyhound racing night trotting and general sport. The proposal to secure a joint greyhound racing license was carried, with the president treasurer and two vice presidents to confer with trustees. Sympathy was shown to Messrs BE and A Stuart in the town. Taree Ladies Hockey Club was granted permission to use the show ground on Sunday August 6 for a match against Wauchope.

On Thursday morning Mr David Green of Cundis learned of the death of his brother Mr William Green aged 63 at Walcha. Born Ivybank Walcha he married Miss Quilty Wollongong and owned The Globe near Walcha. A farmer and Wool grower he served in Walcha P A Association and was postmaster of the local Masonic Lodge. He is survived by a widow and three daughters.
