The notice lists 119 locations with agricultural and industrial exhibitions for the summer of 1916. Regina hosts July 24 to 29, Baskatoon July 1 to August 5, and others including North Battleford, Kerrobert, Luseland, Macklin, Unity, Cut Knife, Wilkie, and Asquith with varied July and August dates.
A ratepayers meeting for Division 5 of the R.M. of Prairie is set for Tuesday March 24 at 4 PM. Councillor Parrish will lead the session at Inverallan School House to discuss matters of general interest to ratepayers.
The rink will stay open three nights weekly for the remainder of the season with skating from 7 30 to 10 p m on regular nights and extended hours on Saturdays. The band will play only on Tuesday nights. H Martin manager.
An informal banquet at the Wilkie Hotel honored Dr. R. J. Macdonald prior to his departure. The Wilkie Public and High Schools sent expressions of gratitude for his welfare work. G. R. Fleming chaired as wives of staff attended and Dr. Macdonald pledged to assist Wilkie from afar, citing his boosting record.
Sunday School scholars enjoyed a sleigh ride to Scottson on Friday followed by a basement supper. RK Pen led a load of thirty sleighs, with Shirley Sutton and John Sherwood also in attendance. Officers thank helpers and announce a Grand Irish Concert Friday in the Public School Assembly Room admission 26 cents. Services next Sunday include Narrow Lake School at 11 am and an evening sermon on Interesting Sinners and Sour Saints. The public is invited.
Two cablemen arrived from Saskatoon on Tuesday night to install a new cable that adds capacity to the Wilkie circuit. The older line was taxed to capacity with many extra wires. The project will take several days to complete due to the amount of work involved.
A Grand Irish Concert will be given in the assembly hall of the Public School on Friday evening March 17 at 830. Admission 26 cents. The programme features pianoforte solo Mrs C W Crane songs by A L Thompson Miss Steeves and others with duets and readings by local artists, plus an intermission and candy sale.
Major Young of the 65th Battalion arrived in Wilkie last week to recruit for his regiment. He secured three local men, John W. Spicer, Chas Cardiff, and R. Sanderson, all medically examined by Dr. R. A. McLurg and now departed for Saskatoon. Additional volunteers have signaled intent to join soon.
The Red Cross Society lists donations including Atlantic Masquerade Dance 24.00 and Narrow Lake Ladies Aid 1.00. Proceeds from a coverlet raffle total 55.26. Provincial Red Cross Society reports 94100 collected over Oct Feb. Two young ladies canvassed $120 in membership fees. appeal for members continues.
Trustees north of Traynor held a box social and dance on Friday March 10 to benefit the Canadian Patriotic Fund. Mrs Harris trained children to sing patriotic songs while Boon brothers staged recitations. Rev. McManus entertained with songs as Raelff of Traynor gave a patriotic address, followed by J J Whiting praising soldiers and urging support for those at war. The evening closed with box bidding and a communal supper.

A special meeting held March 1 discusses amendments to the Stray Animals Act from the Provincial House Regina. The RM adopts eight culverts 8 by 22 feet and approves appointing pound-keepers for 1916 in six divisions. the meeting adjourns after the motion.
Final rounds in the ee and McKinnon Trophy held high suspense as bowls clashed. F W Mills impressed as first time skip, losing to F W Bink after beating J F Hermann, while A J Scott edged J J Gann 11-10 for premier honors. The Dulmage Cup saw J P Hermann and E Tuck win sections and a dramatic best of three ends, with Tuck narrowly missing victory in the decider.
