Empress of Ireland Sinks After Collision in St Lawrence
The Empress of Ireland was rammed by the Norwegian collier Storstad in the lower St Lawrence Friday morning and sank within 15 minutes. Among the drowned is actor Lawrence Irving and his wife. both bodies recovered. Storstad reached port under her own steam.

Accident injures local man near Pioneer Livery Barn
Jim McMichael of Wilkie suffered twelve stitches in one arm and multiple cuts to his head after an accident on main street at Scott last Thursday. While replacing broken tugs on a team driven by a commercial man, the man jumped out, causing the horses to bolt and wheel over McMichael. He was unconscious for hours before medical aid arrived. the team escaped unharmed after the collision with a telephone post.

Celebration at Cut Knife Draws Huge Wilkie Crowd
A large Wilkie turnout rode a special train and autos to the Cut Knife Celebration. The weather was fine and many were from Wilkie and nearby areas. Wilkie Baseball and Football teams performed well with the football team taking first prize by defeating Cut Knife. Baseball matchups featured Wilkie and Maidstone in the early game.
