Melbourne report says police rushed to the Yarra bank to shield Communist speakers after an angry crowd of sailors and ex servicemen threatened to throw them into the Yarra River. The meeting ended as reinforcements arrived and the crowd dispersed.

A Temora resident handed in the wallet at the Temora turn home after finding it at West Wyalong yesterday. The finder notified Constable Alf Pinner, who located the owner and confirmed the loss. The owner initially denied any loss but later admitted and thanked the finder.
