British Troop Ship Sinks After Fire and Explosion

A British troop ship sank thirty miles off the coast after a fire and explosion in the engine room. Twenty crew members were lost, with rescuers and lifeboats rushing to aid survivors. Surviving Twin of Historic Duo Dies in Mount St Josephs Home

The surviving member of a famous twin pair, once among the world’s oldest twins in 1951, died recently at Mount St Joseph's Home in Young. His twin Peter had died in October 1951 at 53. Kenneth Brown, 19, was committed for trial on charges of breaking and entering four Wagga premises and stealing goods valued at £106 3s 4d.
