Local manager Bert Williams of Wright Heaton and Co. Lid suffered severe burns to his hands and face when petrol ignited while cleaning a car vacuum tank. His son Tom helped extinguish the flames. he was later taken to District Hospital and is progressing but in great pain.

The Sydney Labor Council discussed a 48 hour week and the advisability of a railway strike as part of protests against the introduced hours reduction. N Jeffries urged an immediate general strike across the service while Reeves proposed a regulated strike. no decision was reached as the council adjourned.
