A small bulk storeroom fire behind J M Thomas grocery on Malin Street was detected early and extinguished quickly. About £10 in damage reported as the flames were brought under control with extinguishing efforts.
A party of six nuns traveling from Goulburn to Wormbat in a tl t car escaped injury after their vehicle overturned at Gua hing Gap seven miles from Yass. The side curtains trapped them briefly but they crawled out unhurt. The car was badly damaged and the group waited in Yass for a few hours before continuing home.
