Five year old girl killed by cousin with rifle blast

Marion Edith Hatch aged five was shot dead at Stephen's Creek near Broken Hill. Her 11 year old cousin found a rifle at their grandfather's home and, unaware it was loaded, pulled the trigger. The bullet struck the girl in the chest.

Wellington swimming baths time of opening

At Wellington Municipal Council meeting Mr Such reported on a separate pumping option for the baths. Estimates show a pump delivering 13,500 gallons per hour could cost about £200 to install with electricity at 10d per hour. If water is deemed unclean, the pump could be relocated at the baths.
