A woman was treated for wounds to the right side of the face left shoulder right arm and wrist after an assault. PoliceRapid response units are continuing to search for the alleged perpetrator as investigations proceed.
Marion Edith Hatch aged five was shot dead at Stephen's Creek near Broken Hill. Her 11 year old cousin found a rifle at their grandfather's home and, unaware it was loaded, pulled the trigger. The bullet struck the girl in the chest.
At Wellington Municipal Council meeting Mr Such reported on a separate pumping option for the baths. Estimates show a pump delivering 13,500 gallons per hour could cost about £200 to install with electricity at 10d per hour. If water is deemed unclean, the pump could be relocated at the baths.
In a South Maitland Coalfields Assembly of the Labour Party, three men were repudiated after failing to attend a demanded meeting. The speakers named include J. James MP and Booth MLA, along with Mosk, and Badderley. The assembly voted to repudiate them for nonattendance.

Police investigate a threat received by a Melbourne businessman over 2000 pounds offered as ransom. A caller warned the father to drive past Wattle Park at 2 90 pm with the money, then hung up. Detectives are examining the message and tracing its origin.
A remand was requested and granted until September 21 after paving wounds were reported. The court ordered the stay to allow medical or legal processing, with further actions pending the remand period.
