Molong Shire Referendum Sees 49 Vote Majority for Yes
Molong Shire electors approved moving the headquarters to Molong by 49 votes in a non compulsory poll. Of about 2,500 eligible electors only 1,679 voted, with 861 supporting Molong and 0 forming informal ballots. The council had previously backed Molong as HQ despite rural opposition and costs were estimated at £16,500 to ready Molong Town Hall.

Minister Plans Visit to BURRENDONG Dam Site
The Member for Mudgee Mr F G Cooke MLA arranged for Minister for Conservation Ben Enticknap to tour the Bureendong Bamwa works on Friday December 5. Death of Mr George Job in Arthurstown funeral in Sydney
Relatives and friends mourn the death of Mr George Edward Job who died at the residence of his son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs R Harrison of Arthurst on Friday night after months of illness. Three Men Battle House Fire Save Man From Electrocution
Three men Messrs Fen Bell Pat Sullivan and Pat Dwyer controlled a blaze in Jenn Street yesterday morning preventing electrocution after a main fuse blew. They woke sleeping occupant Edgars Crook and fought the fire with hoses and buckets until the brigade arrived. The house owned by Mrs P Field at Willetrove was damaged as fire crews extinguished the blaze.
