Picnic Race Meeting Ends In Thrilling Finishes At Mudgee

The course and enclosures were in perfect condition and crowds praised the green, well kept track. Coutreau won the Picnic Race Club’s Cup by three lengths, ridden by D Whittaker. N Veech rode winners on Rengue and Aunt Jennifer, and British In won the Ladies Bracelet. Officials lauded the smooth program with competitive finishes and a social scene echoing pre war days.

Community Hospital Gifts Augment Wards Fundraising Drive

Community Hospital in Binda Walla received further gifts and applications for shares after last Saturdays appeal by Mr. Harry Taylor for more financial support. Offers to equip wards as memorials were received from town and district families, reducing costs and allowing focus on diagnostic and surgical equipment. Taylor said a complete donor list could not be published this week but would be available next Monday.
