A quiet pretty wedding took place on 20 April at St John’s Church of England as Alfred Merrell and Iris Corby were married by the Rev K D Norman. Iris wore magnolia satin with a wreath and veil, a gift from Grandma Cook, and carried a cream bouquet. Best man Mick Beasley. Bridesmaid Lue Cooper in pink frock. Reception at Mrs Whitehead’s. Couple honeymooning in Bathurst and Sydney.

Wellington show drew large crowds with blooms across chrysanthemums dahlias rests guinea voids and marigolds.
