Weather Pleasant in Wellington Promotes Club Competition

Four bright days and cool nights gave Wellington pleasant weather. For the first time in years the three day maximums Monday Tuesday and yesterday all read 26 degrees. Minimums varied from 54 to 63 degrees. The Nap Palmer Cup hosted keen Dubbo and Wellington Club matches with strong competition and improved relations between the clubs.

Wellington athletes win five titles at Western Districts carnival

Wellington athletes dominated the Western Districts athletic carnival winning five titles and setting three new records. Ace of One, Tory Lay led sub-junior men with a record long jump, Elaine Brown added two titles including the sub-junior high jump, and the Wellington relay teams swept two events. Other placings came from Brown, Miller, Porter, Daley, and Hatton across sprints and middle-distance races. The club planned two more local meetings before winter recess, with point-score leaders named across divisions.
