Bathurst Show Profit Revealed at Council Meeting

About half the census forms for New South Wales have been delivered. Deputy Field Supervisor R W Evans urged anyone missing a form to visit a post office or police station on Monday to complete it. Four thousand two hundred sixteen collectors will assist those unable to fill the form. Forms must be signed by the respondent and countersigned by the collector. Dr Roland Wilson assured no disclosure of housing space information from individuals or homes. He denied any intention to use data to compel households to accommodate others and emphasized privacy under all circumstances.

Stockyards Sale At Wellington Many Sheep And Cattle Sold
The Macquarie Shire stock saleyards at Wellington highlighted another strong sale by Pitt Son Badgery Ltd. with 10 000 sheep and 150 cattle sold at excellent prices. Buyers from central and far western districts attended in large numbers as 200 plus cars filled the yard. Merino sheep and crossbreds met brisk demand and firm to slightly higher in parts, with a 90 percent clearance of 11 060 yarded. Prices featured 2-tooth Romney ewes and Corriedale lines, with top lamb prices near 48s 10d and other selections in the 38s to 46s range. Cattle included Hereford cows and calves to £15 12s, Mawarra Springers to £14, and Hereford stud bulls to 26 guineas.

Truck Overturns on Parkes Road Near Wellington
On Parkes Road about fix miles from Wellington a 30 cwt truck lost steering control and left the road overturning down an embankment. Driver Mr Woodbridge of Yeoval was pinned in the cabin. passenger Mr Claude Hodges of Yeoval was thrown clear and unconscious. Passers by did not notice the wreck until Hodges revived and freed Woodbridge. They were taken to Wellington for first aid and later returned home.
