Scraps of Fun and Oddities from a Bygone Era

A collection of comic vignettes and quips from old newspaper humor. Included are jokes about doctors and race, a stout suitor on bended knee, a neighborly damages case, stairway banter in a court, misheard tales, a magistrate’s slander doubt, invitations to settle accounts, a bishop’s absent minded moment, a doctor’s bill quip, and a distressed parent describing a runaway daughter. Also a hospital patient’s quip about his wife’s aim and a nurse’s witty remark.
