Court rules purchaser must pay interest from completion date
Hugh Strahorn offered 77000 pounds but the Master rejected it, later accepting an 80000 pound bid. The court considered whether interest should run before completion, noting clause 21 about profits and expenses. It held the purchaser bears interest only from the fixed completion date, not from the sale day, and the certificate will be varied with costs.
