Gossip from Joan and Wellington School Farewells
The column notes the frosty Victory Day mood and crowded social scene as town residents bundled in warmth for events. It highlights three Wellington High School girls Daphne Thomas Beth and Heather Anderson departing for Teachers’ College and praises their potential as educators. It also reports the engagement of Miss Freda Martir and resignation of Miss Mary Hall, a valued mathematics teacher, whose departure is a loss to the department and school community.
