Right Reverend Monsignor Long 25 Years as Parish Priest
The Empire Mall hosted Monsignor Long's silver jubilee as Wellington parish priest and celebrated his recovery from illness. Hon. W. P. Kelly presented £50 for St Patrick's Church, but the Monsignor redirected the gift to the Catholic Club for a future hall. The event featured orchestral and vocal performances, praise for Dr Gummer, and plans for a parish hall funded by the donation.
