Sequel to After Hours Drinking Case in Local Court
Dorothy Margaret Mains pleaded guilty through her lawyer Mir F A Davidson. Six men were fined twelve pounds each for being found on licensed premises after hours. James Thompson of Woodlands and other locals faced similar fines while the licensee was cautioned. Sergeant Goouyene noted good character among the defendants. Constable Cooper reported seven men and five women inside the hotel on December 9 around 9.25 pm. Mrs Mains had held the hotel license since June 21, 1951, with the judge recording no conviction against the license to avoid a mark.
