Bullets Fly as Melbourne Man Shot in Street

In Melbourne on Monday Henry Mellish a Gishmonger was fired upon by armed men in William Street. A bullet wounded his head and he was carried away with life threatening injuries. Mellish later admitted to hospital in serious condition. A second man was arrested and charged with attempted murder. Mellish also suffered a superficial shoulder wound.

A Sat death occurred at Wes Hinton Hospital Friday morning. Reginald John Zell son of Mr and Mrs William Zell of the show ground district died at 22 after illness and operations for internal conditions tied to an earlier accident.
