Bigamy Charge Stuns Dubbo Court as Parker Is Committed
Percy George Parker, 26, was committed for trial in Dubbo on a bigamy charge after evidence showed he married Rosalind Theodora Annie Dunbar in Dubbo while his first wife Lorna Walker remained alive. Police testified Parker admitted the second marriage and produced two certificates. Parker, in court attire, smiled at times as bail was set and witnesses testified about the 1942 Gilgandra and 1946 Dubbo marriages and the couple’s two children.

Death of William Major Eggleston at Cum nook
William Major Eggleston of Cum nock died at about 90 o clock yesterday morning in Wellington District Hospital at age 65 from injuries after a sulky accident at Yeoval on Saturday. He was born in Cum nock, lived there all his life, and was a well known farmer. He left a wife of two years with no children and is survived by a brother John of Cum nock and two sisters Gertrude of Cum nock and Elizabeth of Penshurst. Funeral held today at 11 o clock, interment in Church of England section of Cum nock cemetery, Rev Batterbee officiated, Shakespeare and Sons in charge.

Gilgandra drowning fatality of a 14-year-old boy
A 14 year old, John Edward Gilmore of Mendooran, drowned at Gilgandra swimming pool on Sunday afternoon. A diver located his body at the bottom. artificial respiration failed. The coroner dispensed with an inquest and the burial occurred at Mendooran cemetery the following Monday afternoon.
