Joseph Brennan a 70 year old man who left his Leura home last Thursday remains missing. Police and about 30 volunteers search the countryside amid fears he may be lost due to near blindness.
Charles Simmins aged 89 collapsed in extreme heat while traveling a 50 mile journey to Bayneys Well. He had sat out without water and covered less than half the distance when he collapsed unconscious on the roadway and died a few hours after admission to hospital.
Federal authorities decide that Senators and House members will not be re sworn due to the death of King George. Legal opinion holds the oath of office taken to the King remains valid. the authority’s stance ends the issue and stabilizes the position.
