Trangie stock sale conducted by A Buler and Co of Trangie and O L Muling and Co of Dubbo drew aggressive bidding on Friday January 28 with 180 fat cattle sold. Prices rose 30 shillings to £4 per head from prior sale levels, including jowls steady at £23 6d and bulls to £20. Fat cows and store cattle were strong, with calves selling up to £7 25s and cows with calves reaching £26. One hundred head of fat cattle are booked for a February 18 sale.

Wellington Police Court Hard Labour For Drunk Vagrants
In Wellington Police Court on Wednesday last, William Glass a labourer aged about 19 was sentenced to one month’s hard labour after begging two men on Natdams Crescent. Sergeant Kenny testified Glass had a long record of drunkenness and prior vagrancy. Two other Wellington labourers, Leslie Ernest Fraser and James Thomas Lance Redden, were also jailed for one month each on drunkenness and vagrancy charges. Fraser had only 4d in his possession when searched. Redden faced three charges including indecent language and drunkenness. Police witnesses described both men as habitual vagrants with histories of begging alms in the town.
