Monday of Tamt week Mr. Staines set out alone to return home from June in murky weather. He attempted to cross swollen Billabong Creak and Bethungra with the sulky and horse, freed the animal after the traces broke, and the sulky drifted downstream awaiting rescue. Also, Miss Crowe of Eugowre road was jostled from a sulky wheel caught in a rut, her ear cut by the wheel edge, but she suffered no other injuries and was taken to Canowinden Memorial Hospital for recovery.
