FRANK McGOWAN a 32 year old miner sustained a compound fracture of the left leg and other injuries after a heavy earth fall in a sewerage tunnel at Coogee yesterday afternoon. Two ambulance officers climbed 30 feet into the shaft and crawled 100 yards along the tunnel to reach him. He was bound to a stretcher and hoisted to the surface by workmen.
