In a royal supper tale, Charles II, Queen Catherine, and Rochester debate if wine bears God and man. A Scottish cook named David cites Judges nine thirteen, arguing wine symbolizes the mediation in salvation. The King is impressed. From Fienna dated November 28 reports say part of the Russian and Turkish fleet may have appeared before Corfu. After the garrison refused surrender the fleet's troops took the port, capturing French ships in harbor. Russian and Turkish forces pursued the retreating French to Mezzo, with expectations of further capitulations.

From France and Brussels dated November 29, reports of severe engagements on the 23rd between French forces and insurgents in the Louvain and Soignes woods. The rebels were dispersed, and the garrison remained under arms with gates closed most of the day. Rebels in the Campine region were defeated with heavy losses. Casualties and baggage losses reported, with chaotic battlefield notes and dispersed troops.
