Morality Defined by Obedience to God’s Will
In this February 17 1733 discourse the author rejects views equating virtue with pleasure or private gain. True Virtue lies in choosing natural goods under divine guidance and social duties, regulated by God given appetites, for the sake of everlasting happiness and the being of mankind. Moral Goodness requires obedience to God’s Will and concern for all humanity, not selfish or reward driven aims.
