The Curiosities of Literature at the Haymarket

A new farce titled The Curiosities of Literature plays at the Haymarket last night. Sir Terence Velvet drafts plans on his parliamentary canvass, while a misdirected letter swaps officers, triggering deceit, marriage schemes, and proxy alliances culminating in a final match with Lady Penson Hunter. The piece, lighter and reminiscent of The Irish Attorney, provokes hearty laughs but is deemed a frail, short-lived amusement.
