Dramatic oddities and shows at Adelphi and allied venues
A mixed review of Mr. F Coyne’s This House to be Sold at the Adelphi praises some scenes with the London fishmonger’s son and Shakespeare setting but criticizes the overall hackneyed subject, weak jokes, and an overly childish final dance. It notes Mr Wright’s strong performance and suggests more novelty was needed.

Explosion on Board the Cricket Steamer Adjourned Inquest
The adjourned inquest into the deaths from the Cricket steamer explosion resumed in the workhouse board room before Mr Bedford and a jury of sixteen. Witnesses, including surgeons and police, described post mortems on Thomas Shed Lilleton and John Buckley, with findings of drowning and severe head injuries. The coroner adjourned to allow official boiler and engine examinations by government engineers and stated the vessel machinery may be returned to owners after the inspection to prevent depreciation.

Vessel Repairs After Heavy Gales Leave Minor Bottom Damage
The ship shows about ten feet of damage under her bilge amidships caused by heavy gales in November. Repairs will be swift with only holes and loose rivets to address. The decks and stern area suffered wear from exposure while ashore at Dundrum, yet crews merit credit for preserving the vessel.
