Invasion of London by French National Guards
On Monday night upwards of 700 Parisian National Guards arrived in London via the South Eastern Railway. They lodged near Leicester Square and were shown hospitality by the city. A deputation will visit the Lord Mayor for a banquet. the guards visited Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, and Parliament, then attended theatres. Relations between France and England were displayed in cordial exchanges and cheers.

Great Western extension opens to Basingstoke rail route
