The Tories in Ireland in Ben Jonson’s View

Lincoln's Inn Summons to Dinner and Calcutta Death Customs
A Victorian miscellany blends tales of Lincoln's Inn dinner customs with a grim account of Mahomedan burial practices near Calcutta. It describes the Butcher's Garden graveyard, monsoon rotting, cremation contrasts, and river burial, followed by notes on Moscow halls, German epigrams, insanity and Byron boatman lore, and assorted antiquarian curios. The piece juxtaposes haunting death rites with literary anecdotes and museum-like curiosities.
