Commission of Lunacy Acts On Earl of Galloway’s Nephew

A commission de lamatico inquirendo opened before Mr. Commissioner Winslow and sixteen special jurors to assess the mind of Henry Keith Stewart nephew of the Earl of Galloway. Evidence shows Stewart, now 26, suffered epileptic fits from age 12 and has been wholly unconscious for years, with the jury finding him of unsound mind since February 1847.
