Birth of a Prince of Wales on Lord Mayor's Day 1841

Our London correspondents recount the birth of the royal heir at Buckingham Palace on November 9 1841. Queen Victoria and the infant prince are reported to be well. The event triggered full government notices, privy council actions, royal salutes, and widespread public celebrations across London and other cities with bells, illuminations, and congratulatory addresses.
