Surrey assizes hear a case against Solomon Reeves a South Eastern railway labourer for leading a mob of 60 to 100 men who forced entry into Thomas Gower s shop at Bletchingley on February 22. Gower defended himself with a pistol and Reeves was found guilty and sentenced to twelve months hard labour.
