Association presses for full repeal of Fire Insurance Duty

Honorary secretary Mr Thomas Park reports the Fire Insurance Duty should be repealed entirely. The 1864 Budget halves the duty on Stock-in-Trade and Utensils to 1s 6d, but keeps 3s on private property. The association urges uniform tax across classes and lists dozens of co operating offices and corporate bodies.
