Norfolk Circuit Aylesbury Manoa 14 ASEAULT BY 4 CYERGYNAX
In Norfolk Circuit court the rector of Hawridge William Day aged 33 was tried for feloniously cutting and wounding James Batchelor with a penknife over a dispute at the Rose and Crown Inn Hawridge. The jury found the assault but the judge held it amounted to an assault not a felony. Day was sentenced to six weeks more imprisonment. Also William Archer and George Proffit faced trial for stabbing threats with a bayonet and wounding a prosecutor at Brill. Proffit was convicted of assault with a bayonet and sentenced to transportation for fifteen years. Archer received a lighter sentence. The report continues with Bedford and Dorchester sessions including a murder by arsenic and galvanizing cases, and other assorted indictments.

Remains of a Summer Sea Romance and a Lost Shell
A reflective column recalls a calm seaside courtship by the headland and the lingering image of a lone shell kept as a memory. The piece blends verse memories with a later, fragmented notice of tea prices and Parliament era sugar reports, plus a post office letter anecdote and Greenwich petty sessions curious tenure tale.

Hampstead Murder Details Surface at Inquest
Inspector Gray reports new leads in the Hampstead murder case of Delarue. A key witness, Hibbletwaite, whose uncle in Yorkshire provided statements, describes seeing the victim with Baldock and others near the Swiss Cottage. Prosecutors expect Hocker to argue the crime was a plunder plot rather than a murder, citing alleged weapon findings and alibi gaps.

Virtues of Oatmeal and a Premier's Dream Scene
A satirical 18th or 19th century essay defends oatmeal over wheaten flour, mocking pasteboard rival breads and UK staple foods. It contrasts a public debate on diet with a theatrical scene showing distressed tradespeople appealing to a Prime Minister as they voice wage and pension anxieties and tax burdens.
