CHARTIST TRIALS CONTINUED IN MANCHESTER HEARINGS

Insolvent Debtors Court Breach of Trust Case and Various Crimes
In the Insolvent Debtors Court the case of James Jenkins, manager of the Canterbury Bank at £250 a year, opposing the assignees of Halford Baldock Co., raised breach of trust questions over withdrawals and furniture disposal. Officers Charged With Felony Over Fowl Dispute
Ensign Robert Dawson Chapman and Ensign John Le Marchant Carey of the 44th regiment along with John Foster the landlord were brought up in the county office at Rochester on Thursday charged with felony after shooting fowls the pair believed belonged to the landlord. The magistrate acquitted the officers and committed Mr Foxter for trial at the next Maidstone assizes. The Esente was freed on bail of two sureties of 40 pounds each and himself at 80.
