Ireland, Saxon roots and medieval fortifications tale
An OCR fragment discusses Anglo Irish identity from the Saxon Tweed to the Tamar, then shifts to thirteenth century Caen fortifications, monastic troops at St Stephen and Holy Trinity, and contrasts modern remnants with ancient defenses. It includes stray notes on monastic life, dress, and a digressive aside on sugar and Marian superstition.
