French treaty search row sparks debate in Parliament
Our Parish correspondent notes the French government may resist extending the right of search. In the Chamber of Deputies, M Guizot is described as sharply anti English. In London, Ts Beckett mocks Leeds representation as outlandish. The piece also reports Orders in Council on prayer for the royal family and a series of odd local anecdotes.
