Central Criminal Court Session Opens With Long List Of Offences

The 160th session of oyer and terminer opened with Barons Alderson and Justices Coleridge and Cresswell presiding. The court reviewed a lengthy indictments summary including murder attempts, forgery, counterfeiting, embezzlement, burglary, larceny, highway robbery and related offences. Prisoner tallies by region and transport classifications were given, plus renovations of convicts to Milbank for colonial transport. The Recorder urged the grand jury to scrutinize a manslaughter case involving a medical practitioner and a patient, stressing insufficient evidence to support the charge.
