The Irish State Trials Twelfth Day in Traversers Case

Sarunpay January 27 marks the real rise in interest as Mr Sheil defends John O Connell and co traversers. The packed court, a chorus of spectators, including archbishop and nobility, listens as lawyerly rhetoric clashes with prosecutorial strategy in a historic conspiracy trial across the Four Courts.

Court session opens as O Connor address likely Thursday

The full court met shortly after 10 this morning amid public interest then subsiding. Rumor said Mr O Connell would be next to address the jury, an event not expected before Thursday. Moore and Hatchell spoke until two, with three other counsel to be heard.

Ireland’s repeal trial parley ends in courtroom turbulence

The session chronicles lengthy defense arguments by attorneys Fitzgibbon and Moore for traversers including Tierney Gray and Duffy. Witnesses dispute conspiracy charges, denounce the attorney general’s conduct, and recount tense adjournments amid a fractured, highly charged trial atmosphere.
