Railway Benevolent Institution Seeks Casualty Fund Aid
The thirteenth half yearly meeting at King's Cross Station heard the board report the net balance at £8,934 15s 4d, up from prior years. A casualty fund is proposed to aid railway servants with a 1s yearly donation yielding up to £5 for widows or orphans or for a disabled contributor. About 350 railway staff joined in six months, 280 Great Northern and 120 London Chatham and Dover. Trustees aim to expand memberships and extend support across lines.
