Trial on Insurance Policy Over Schwabe Death

Summer Assizes at Liverpool heard Argus Insurance defend a £999 life policy on Louis Schwabe. The Solicitor General argued the policy void if death came by own action or poisoning, while witnesses described Schwabe’s distressed state and probable insanity before he ingested sulphuric acid. The jury found for the plaintiff, with verdict lingering on mental accountability at the time of death.
